Ht. 90-150cm/3-5ft. The sweet crisp fresh pods are excellent in salads. Harvest early before the peas form inside so pods are tender and sweet. Some call this pea the "Queen of the Orient" because it is so often added to stir fries.
Resistant to downy mildew. Low in geosmin, the substance that gives other beetroot varieties an unpleasant earthy taste. Roots are globular, 6-8cm/2.5-3" across with smooth skin. Prolific variety with blood red roots and red-tinged green tops.

Indeterminate habit; needs support. The flesh is sweet, meaty and firm, with few seeds. It was an accidental cross between two heirlooms, Antique Roman and Banana Legs, discovered by American home gardener John Swenson in the 1990s.
Cover with 1/2 in. Retains good eating quality for a long time. Sow in well-worked soil after danger of frost in early spring, again in late summer for fall crop. Harvest these crisp roots extra early.
Suited for greenhouse and field production. A large leaf basil has high oil content and hence a stronger aroma and flavour than other varieties. Ht. 75-80cm/30-32". Excellent for pesto and other typical basil uses.
