We got this for keeping the sun off our hummingbird feeder. I had to replace the hanging hook with a bolt so we could adjust it.

Wired it shut and they still climb on it and shake seed out. Yes it keeps the big gray squirrels from getting the bird seed. They are small enough to fit inside the wire caging and will sit there and eat for hours.
