I rolocate orange halves on the spikes as the birds tend to eat the area located at 7 O Clock to 5 O' Clock clockwise direction. Maybe putting a couple of "barbs" on the "spikes" would help keep the oranges in place longer.

Just received this, and pulled the label off, which covered about 40% of one side of the top. Very disappointed. Wondering how long it will take for water to get in and warp the wood.

Definitely not a deal breaker. Small squirrels climbed the pole right up through the slinky and came out the top stretched out part. Easy to attach. Worked at first. Nice try but no cigar on this one.

Also the food was eaten and not blowing all over. Since that time I have purchased three more. I received on feeder and tray for Father's day and was really impressed on the way birds could sit and eat.

They especially like using the "floor" to stand on while they eat, so It's a big improvement over the square suet cage feeder that I was using previously. By the way, it's not necessary to use 4 suet cakes.
