I glued it back together and took pieces of the old feeder so I have functional feeder again. The feeder is suspended 15' above the ground off my deck. I bought this feeder to replace an identical model that I'd purchased several years prior.

I find that the feeder stays balanced with 2 cakes--or even one. By the way, it's not necessary to use 4 suet cakes. I loved this feeder from the moment I hung it up--and, what's more important, the birds love it! They were attracted to it immediately.

The only thing that could be better is if the clear plastic tube was more heavy duty. Works great for almost all sizes of birds.
