Marrubium

(Marrubium vulgare) This member of the mint family has a pleasant fragrance and a menthol-like flavor. Medicinal: Contains substances which stimulate secretions of the bronchial mucosa, soothe coughs and break up mucus.

1/2 ounce = 1/2 sandwich bag . Useful in many respiratory disorders, but, specifically in bronchitis and coughs. It is used in the form of a syrup, in ordinary colds , coughs, and fevers as well as for hoarseness.

The pink-flowered shrub, which grows 6 to 12 feet tall and wide, creates an informal hedge. Small yellow-green flowers appear in round clusters at the ends of stems that dangle from the branches.
