Triple Crown is one of the Best blackberries ever developed. These plants are supplied potted in one gallon containers to minimize transplants shock and maximize survivability
Details
TRIPLE CROWN BLACKBERRY $4.00 each (lower in larger quantities) These plants have been tip layered directly into one gallon pots and come to you in these pots. This is a different approach to supplying plants from what you typically see from most suppliers for that matter. If you have looked around you will know that few houses offer blackberry plants grown in one gallon pots and that 4\" pots cost much more than this and one gallon pots command prices of $15.00 and more PER PLANT. This method of propagation is much more labor intensive and expensive to complete but, the results are well worth it.
The advantage of buying plants already potted? First we must remember that the life of the plant is in the root. Anytime you bare root a plant, you can weaken it. Some of the advantages fo this method are that the root system is undisturbed, there is virtually no transplant shock, plant survival is better than with bare root plants, when your plants arrive they will be in excellent shape and do not need to go in the ground immediately as with bare root methods.
Triple Crown Blackberries are well suited to be grown in zones 5-8. The thornless Triple Crown was released in 1998 with commercial planting starting in 2000. Since then the Triple Crown has lived up to its name which are its main attributes of flavor, productivity and vigor. The berries are very large, with reasonable care berries will typically be in the 10-15 gram range, the size of a quarter and larger. Plants raised under controlled circumstance, i.e. university trials, have produced up to 30 pounds per vine (with proper care). This plant is a winner all the way around.
You can buy with confidence as we are a certified nursery and inspected by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.
