The Spanish Goat Association is a free forum working to conserve purebred Spanish goats, which have become a conservation priority. Please contact us if you have any old Spanish or visit for more info.
Details
Spanish goats were once America's Meat Goat, with over half a million in the U.S. Now we have found only 6,000 remaining. Goat ranchers are learning that Spanish goats are parasite resistant, adapt well to different climates, and give more pound of weaned kid per pound of doe than Boers or Kikos. Spanish goats make financial sense, but we have lost so many to crossbreeding that we've almost lost every Spanish that were available to crossbreed with. Please help us find Spanish herds so that we may conserve the breed and make the gene pool available to all who need to use these great goats in their breeding programs. The Spanish Goat Association does not register goats or charge fees, we just work to conserve Spanish goats.
