Readily accepting babies not suffering from a terminal illness. Will pay market weight by the pound up to 300lbs, or accept free babies. I'm willing to travel to pick up within 200 miles of area code 76401; further than this I will ask to meet halfway.
Details
I'm Agriculture major at Tarleton State University and former FFA member. Right now I have a steady job (working at a Christian retreat camp) and I am also a full time student (15 credit hours) but I miss having my hands on livestock. I'm not out to start a huge operation, I just want those unwanted babies and yearlings. I know from experience of those around me that sometimes an orphaned calf is not worth the time and effort you may have to invest and is easier to disregard, but I enjoy spending the time and making the investment that is required to put forth in order to care for these babies. I have raised many bottle babies in the past, and while I've had a high success rate I know that not every story has a happy ending. (--see short description for details on meeting--)I'm financial sound, but far from rich, so please be reasonable. No calf will be rejected (within reason) and I do not require or care if it is registered, PB, or FB. In fact I don't care if it's ugly as sin. I'm not looking to open up a livestock refuge either, so no I'll give you the calf but 30 emus come with it deals. I also request to know if the herd/mother/calf has been vaccinated against of the following. 1. Blackleg 2. Malignant edema 3. Black's disease (BRSV)4. Enterotoxemia (C & D) 5. Redwater 6. Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR) 7. Parainfluenza-3 (PI3)8. Bovine Virus Diarrhea (BVD)9. Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus10.Pasteurella hemolytica11.Hemophilus somnus12. Brucellosis (Bangs)13. Vibriosis (Campylobacter)14. Leptospirosis (1-5 strains) 15. Rota/Corona virus 16. E. coli (Scours) 17. Pinkeye 18. Trichomoniasis19. Warts20. Anthrax21.
