Two sizes are available. The smaller, \"baby\", corms require about two years growth before they will produce flowers. The larger, \"mature\" corms should produce flowers this year if planted by mid-October. Several thousand of each are available for sale.
These corms, where they were produced, usually bloom a week or so before Thanksgiving depending upon moisture and temperatures. They produce nice long threads with good flavor. (Normally three Stigmas per flower.) Some of these corms will produce more than one flower during the blooming season.
They also have a high reproduction rate. Three to seven \"baby\" corms per year per \"mature\" corm depending on planting conditions.
They are drought tolerant and may be planted in close proximity. (Six inches)
They should be replanted every 2-3 years for best production.
