Our tree produces about 300 pounds of ripe fruit each year that is sweet and juicy. My kids love them and eat them as they come off the tree. But we still have fruit to spare. The species of Kumquat is Nagami and the fruit is golden yellow colored. The fruit are small usually round but can be oval shaped with an average diameter of 3/4 inch. The peel has a very sweet taste with a sour center. The fruit can also used to make marmalade. The kids would like to earn money and they will do most of the harvesting, cleaning and packaging.
