Are you looking for a grain elevator with a rail point in Southern Illinois? This is your opportunity, a grain elevator facility with a spur track (1985 feet long and expandable up to two miles) and room for expansion. Freight rates at this location are a bargain since the facility is located on the north edge of the Canadian National Railroad's Carbondale switchyard, a primary interchange route with very competitive freight rates. The facility is located adjacent to US Highway 51 and US 13 is two miles South and I-57 is fourteen miles East, in the heartland of Southern Illinois.
The site is contiguous with the Carbondale Bicentennial Industrial Park which is in an Enterprise Zone. The zone will make available low cost expansion of the facility.
The grain elevator, 50,000 bu cap, contains twenty-bins for commodities such as: corn, beans, wheat, oats, and others. The facility includes three gain legs, two pits, a 40 hp continuous flow grain dryer, corn cracker, and a mix-o-matic for the manufacturing of animal, bird, and fowl feed. A fifty-foot truck scale is located west and parallel to the scale house.
