Job Benefits and Options
Responsibilities

We need a hard working person to start colts and learn the finishing process on show horses. Responsibilities will include all types of ranch work that is needed in care of the horses. Our assistants are expected to ride and exercise at least 8-10 head of horses per day. Grooming and medical care of the horses. We have two hired men that clean stalls and feed, and take care of the grounds. The assistant on occasion may have to help with these chores if necessary. The assistant will also go to the horse shows with us and help in every aspect of the show.

Qualifications

Our assistant program has been very successful. Two of our former assistants have gone on to win world championships. We are only interested in hiring some one who is capable of starting two-year olds. The person does not have to have many years of experience, but show some talent and desire to train horses. We will expect the assistant to follow our program, which we feel is the safest and most humane for the horses. Our training program will lead a horse into any direction of training a horse is most suited.

Job Description

The assistant is required to start at 7:00 a.m. and the work day is over when the work is completed for the day. We work six days a week and seven days a week during a horse show. The assistant is required to live in the trailer provided for them. We will allow one cat to live in the trailer. No dogs. We expect the assistant to live, eat, breathe horses during the time he/she works for us. Personal problems are not tolerated. If you can not 110% commit yourself to the job this is not the job for you. We expect the assistant to ride 8-10 horse per day even if it takes until 8:00 p.m. We will depend on the assistant to help give lessons and assist the customers at all times. We strongly believe in customer satisfaction. Depending on your level of show experience we may have you show some of the horses for us, and you must turn in your amatuer card if you possess one. We prefer to hire single people due to the long hours and days but we will consider anyone who can work hard. We require that you have proof of medical coverage that includes hospitalization. We provide your living quarters and pay for your utilities plus salary.
