Responsibilities
 
Must have some experience managing a barn and its staff. Creates training and maintenance schedules for horses and staff. Trains horses for performance venue. Knowledge of the care and temperment of Arabian horses would be an asset. Ideal candidate is a humane trainer, that understands how to train horses to perform in a production that celebrates the horse's beauty, agility and grace.
 
Qualifications
 
Must have experience in horse training, and that training should be in a discipline such as vault or dressage, circus or similar. Must utilize humane training styles and methods. Management experience is a huge asset. Must be able to speak the native language of the region (English).
 
Job Description
 
Supervise the preparation of horses for performance venue, advise and consult with owners and instruct stable staff and riders/performers.

The Horse Trainer will perform the following tasks:

Feed, groom and exercise horses, bridle and saddle horses. Accustom horses to reins, harnesses and costumes. Harness and hitch horses and teach them to pull wheeled carriages or sleighs. Teach apprentice riders and peformers horse riding techniques and horse handling methods. Supervise and direct stable staff, and riders/ performers. Plan, supervise and carry out training programs for horses. Plan and select performance programs to achieve the best show for a horse, attend management meetings, or other horse-related events and promotional opportunities. Advertise the performance to attract clients, employ and manage staff in accordance with relevant laws, keep accurate records of inventory and staff records. Should specialize in performance horses for events, show jumping and dressage. May be required to work long hours.

Personal Requirements:

A keen interest in horses, patience and good communication skills are essential. Must enjoy outdoor, hands-on work, must be a team player, and be able to effectively and professionally communicate with management and other department managers.
