The Skyline Yarder System is a specialized piece of equipment utilized primarily for the logging industry. Skyline Yarder Engineer/Hook Tender is the current request. Currently, there are only 40 yarder units that exist in operation in North America.

Responsibilities

The position would be an in-between to the Yarder Superintendent and the Yarder Operator. The 40-hour HAZWOPER training will be paid by the project. This is a specialty hire specific to the specialized equipment for the Urunao project.

Qualifications

The candidate has to have at least 15 years experience and must be willing to travel - living on Guam required for duration of project - rotations home allowed every 60 days based on project rotation schedule. The candidate must be able to operate a TTY 6170 Skyline Yarder with a Boman Motorized Carriage. Must have extensive rigging experience. Remote assignment to Guam required.

The supervisor and operator must be familiar with the Shaw owned yarder system consisting of a 1998 Thunderbird TTY-6170 Running/ Mobile Skyline Yarder System with a 70 ft. tower/tube with a four drum Skyline. This system will utilize a Cat 330DL Excavator for the tail hold utilizing a 20 ft. tower frame as a Back spar. The skyline cable distance is less than 1000 ft. The Yarder will complete between 60-80 cycles or turns per day utilizing a drag bucket, containers/bins, rake, slings for the removal of 65,000 loose cubic yarders of solid waste located on a 65-75% cliff line slope.
