Responsibilities
|
| |
1)Oversee daily operation of horseback riding program and barn operations
2)Ensure riding instructors receive appropriate time off: Ensure proper coverage for riding activities and sign “Time Off Request” forms as appropriate
3)Assist with the instruction of 4-5 classes a day.
4)Plan and develop the horseback riding curriculum. Classes should: be based on levels, for both one-week and three-week programs; incorporate ring riding skills, trail riding, riding theory, horse care and stable management.
5)Work with Program Coordinator to develop daily focus schedule for campers in the riding program
6)Organize and oversee management of barn and horses including: Feeding; Mucking stalls; Grooming; Ensure proper care is given to horses at all times, including: Appropriate workload and schedule; Feeding; Medical treatment (with consultation of veterinary services); Hoof trimming (schedule with the fierier)

Qualifications
|

1)Organized and be able to delegate.
2)Previous experience developing horseback riding related activities
3)Previous experience with horse care and stable management
4)Previous experience teaching horseback riding and working with youth ages 7-15
5)Advanced experience in English style riding
6)Advanced level training and/or education in equine management

We are looking for a qualified individual to be our barn manager for the summer. We have a 4 year old state of the art barn which houses 14 horses. Our campers range in riding ability from beginner to a few older campers who are advanced. We are also looking for riding instructors to help instruct in this activity. Housing, room and board, laundry, internet, all included.
