Contact me about the alpaca business. I have a wide variety of ARI registered alpacas spanning many colors and qualities. A purchase from me starts before the sale. I will provide you with planning before the sale to make sure this is the right investment for you, plus lifetime support once you've made your purchases. It will only take a small visit and some planning to find out if this is the livestock for you. Congress just extended the Section 179 write-offs against your current salary, so for the next year, this is a great write-off, especially if you are in a high tax bracket. If it is right for you, you will find that Hurricane Alpacas of South Carolina, and the farms I'm associated with will have the livestock that will fit your business plan.
Hurricane Alpacas has approximate 20 alpacas on the property and another dozen in Canada being bred. I have some very nice white and light fawn females here right now, along with shades all the way to dark brown. These females are bred to outstanding herdsires from both Canada and the US. I don't believe there is another farm in the area with better genetic diversity, so my farm is an excellent place to start.
My prices are competitive. If you are interested in financing a herd I can work with you on that too. I am currently offering extremely reasonable rates for financing. If you don't already have a place for your herd, I also offer free board for the first 2 months. For long term boarding there is a daily charge which includes all normal care and feeding. There are extra charges for veterinarian calls or other services, such as exhibiting your alpacas at local shows, which can be a good investment for future marketing.
